Growing up I was considered the emo boy. Black Sharpie markers were my weapon of choice to deal with those “emotions”. Art helped me deal with the things words could not. Not much has changed since then. I create art with the most basic color pallet I can. Using mostly just black watercolor paint for most of my science experiments. The goal is to keep your focus on the subject matter versus the pretty colors. These subjects are usually comprised of everyday things with the purpose of giving them a deeper meaning.
All while pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved in detail from the arrangement of what I would consider an organized chaos of brush strokes. Our time here is short and language only communicates so much of the human mind so hopefully my work can create a deeper conversation between people. I think that is the goal with most artists.
